Tucked into the lush, heritage-rich village of Assagao—often called Goa’s “Village of Flowers” —this upcoming resort by Blurring Boundaries is envisioned as a tranquil retreat that honors both nature and culture. Drawing from the village’s Indo-Portuguese charm and its vibrant creative community, the project seeks to create a space where architecture, ecology, and local identity coexist in harmony.

Located within a lush tapestry of mango trees, ‘Asmalay‘ is a biophilic farmhouse in Alibag, near Mumbai that embraces the harmonious interplay of architecture and nature. Through a thoughtful fusion of form and function, the design seeks to create immersive experiences where spatial arrangement, materials, lighting, and colors synergize to establish a sense of harmony. 

Maativan Wada, signifies a natural building sanctuary made of mud, amidst the forest’s embrace. It is nestled on the fringes of Wada’s reserved forest area near Mumbai in India, stands as a testament to dedication to environmental consciousness through the integration of material palette, passive design climatology principles and construction technology.

The beauty of the structure is in the blend of materials and the play of light and shadow of the same. Designed by architects in Surat, the structure has landscape elements embedded both within and without, playing a very important role in enhancing the design. The green elements seen throughout the structure liven up the spaces and work to bring nature into the life of the user.

We design with responsibility toward the environment, minimizing resource use while maximizing efficiency and longevity. Passive strategies ensure natural light, ventilation, and comfortable environments, while active technologies like solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and waste management strengthen performance. Economic sustainability is equally central — we embrace local, natural materials and eco-friendly construction methods such as rat-trap bond walls, filler slabs, arches, and mud construction. In doing so, we create buildings that respect both people and planet.
